Paul Von Setan is a genius surgeon acknowledged by the world for his accomplishments. The nurse Merlin unknowingly hands the doctor powerful eyedrops, which is part of a setup. I am a huge Violet Winspear fan and so I liked the book. There are a few places where the book drags just a tiny bit in the dialogue, but I can overlook that from one of my favorite authors. Overall, it has good chemistry and good dialogue, certainly the setting is wonderful. I definitely recommend the book. It's a keeper for me.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story with a not-your-usual premise and an exotic setting. Granted that I felt the author seemed a bit too determined to saddle the hero with physical traumas, the couple's path to love was a heartfelt, albeit heartbreaking, one that made me feel touched. Wonderful art and adaptation by Yoko Hanabusa.
