Love this great little book. As the captain of an all inclusive Womens' league, the knowledge of basic golf course etiquette varies greatly. I was surprised that the golf pros never teach that in their lessons. After many complaints about stepping on putt lines, playing music, talking during a swing, slowing down play, etc., I invested in this little book and include an etiquette rule with each email. why is this listed under prime childrens books? frustrating to find this and other books that are not childrens books in azon primes childrens section. my child reads picture books.
This is an easy read on some unwritten rules in golf. I've played with golfers that were never taught or exposed to proper golf etiquette and recommend to anyone just starting out. Wouldn't hurt for some long time players I know to read this either.
My Golfing journey has been stop start for many years now. It seems the effort to get from a slogger to a half decent player is immense for the rewards I see. I have decided to give it one last go and searched out information on the web. I came across the confidentgolfer website and in turn this book. Both the website and this book have struck a chord with me and am feeling very enthusiastic about this new challenge.
I particularly liked the etiquette summary at the end of each chapter.
I borrowed this book as one of the Prime Reading benefits because I wanted to learn more about the etiquette of golf. The book sports a very attractive cover, is nicely organized, and I especially liked the way each rule is summarized at the end. That said, the numerous editing errors were very distracting. The errors included punctuation, grammar, run-on sentences, incorrect use of prepositions, and strangely, a few phrases that made no sense at all. A professional editor would have corrected these errors quickly and easily - boosting a two star rating to a four or five.
Get off your duff...and enjoy the great outdoors!!! But don't forget to learn the rules...The book let me discover the proper ways in playing golf and the good manifestations during the game. Easy read...very informative...
Are you thinking playing golf but have no idea what some of the etiquette do and don't are, then this book is for you. Some aspects are obvious, but other you might not have known what the correct thing is to have done in that situation. It discusses everything from, respecting other players when they are about to perform a shot, through to replacing divots on the fairway but not on the T. It is also a good reminder for those who have been playing the game for a while but might have forgotten some of the basics. A well written simple to follow guide that will make a great present.
More pamphlet than book, more amateur home made than professional. MANY typos, misspellings, missing/wrong words and sentences that dont make any sense. I bought this to give as a gift, but dont think it is good enough to do that. im very disappointed. the advice contained in it is OK but the reader is very distracted by all these mistakes.
